Street Photography?? It's an Obsession!! I have done a full circle on this one! there are lots of clever ways that Street Photography has been described, some of which you can NOT even understand as its TOO clever! I think its just the love of taking pictures wherever you are,Slices of Life & thats Street Photography. Whether you are any good at it or not,is a different story. Street Photography has penetrated all other genres of photography including fashion & alike.......Slices of life , no real rules other than dealing with your concious, with the faces and the moments....and a pair of balls & hopefully not getting into trouble or upsetting someone! Ironially, some of the great past & present photographers have either started in the streets, are still in the streets, adopt a street style or keep going back to the streets for a BREATH OF FRESH AIR!!
Good days & days that are not as good! The satisfaction is ENORMER than ENORMOUS!! & of cource LUCK always plays a big part. If you miss it, try again.
But most importantly, to coin a phrase from Frank Zappa, it becomes a CONCEPTUAL CONTINUITY!....you can even take a Street Photograph in a Hotel Corridor....if u acquire my drift! If you want to read more, there is a link to Wikipedia on Street Photography on my links page!

ME?

When I was 13, I asked my dad for an Olympus OM1. A few fays later, he came home with a 6X6 LUBITEL ( Yes, I know, Many of you havent even heard of it ) & he said, son, when you have learned how to take decent pictures with 'THIS', then you can ask for an OM1!!

So, when I was 17 I bought the OM1.....Yippe!!

& Now, still trying to take a decent picture, I realise that sometimes the best things in life happen by instinct rather than planning! Bu luck.
